Sam Schacker

Sam Schacker is a Chicago-based guitarist and educator. Originally from the Twin Cities area in Minnesota, Sam has lived and worked in the Chicago area as a performer and educator since 2013. Sam draws from an eclectic array of artists and genres in his music and improvisation, which can be heard most recently on the debut EP release of 1FootIN/1FootOUT.
During his time in the Baritone Saxophone chair with the Elmhurst College Jazz Band, Sam was fortunate to perform with artists such as Donny McCaslin, Patti Austin, and Doc Severinsen. Sam has a Bachelor's degree in Classical Guitar Performance and Jazz Studies from Elmhurst College.
Sam is also a guitar instructor at Moraine Valley Community College.
