Oak Park School of Music FAQ

  • If you’ll be absent from a lesson or class, we would always appreciate notice so we can let the instructor know.

  • At the time of your notice, we will take a look at the instructor’s schedule that week. If the instructor has an opening in their schedule (or we are running a second section of a group class at the same level), we are happy to move your lesson to that time. Otherwise, you will forego your lesson and no make-up credit or refund will be issued.

  • Yes! If you take your lessons in-person but are away for the week, you can log-in for a Zoom lesson with your instructor. Simply let us know at least 24 hours in advance so we can send the appropriate log-in instructions and alert the instructor.

  • If your teacher will be absent for any reason, our protocol is the following, in this order:

    1) secure a qualified substitute for the lesson

    2) if no substitute is available, offer make-up dates and times with your teacher

    3) if neither are an option, we will cancel the lesson and apply a credit towards your next monthly tuition invoice

  • Private lessons are billed monthly, and each tuition payment applies to the upcoming month of lessons.

  • Group classes are billed monthly, and each tuition payment applies to the upcoming month of classes. Group class registration can be completed by selecting your preferred class and checking out through the group class page on our website. Once you complete your first month’s purchase, we’ll be in touch with Student/Parent Portal information so you may submit your preferred payment method for subsequent months of classes.

  • Yes, we offer online lessons using the Zoom platform.
