Leyandra Snyder

Violin

Leyandra Snyder is a passionate, emerging young artist originally from Boise, Idaho. She is currently pursuing her Master of Music in Violin Performance at the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University under the renowned violinist MingHuan Xu. She completed her Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance, Summa Cum Laude, at Arkansas State University. Her previous teachers include ChiYoung Song and Chia-Li Ho.

Leyandra has been teaching private lessons since 2016. She is passionate about sharing her love of music with her students in an encouraging and healthy environment free from injury. She prioritizes a well rounded education that includes knowledge of music theory and history. She has also taught group lessons for underprivileged children as part of the Arkansas State String Project.

As an avid chamber performer, Leyandra won first place in the Boise Chamber Music Society’s Young Artist String Quartet Competition in 2018 as a member of the Tablerock Quartet. She has also performed in principal positions in summer chamber festivals at Sun Valley Music Festival and the Cornish College of the Arts. Leyandra loves playing in symphony orchestras as well and has held positions and subbed for regional orchestras, such as the Boise Philharmonic and the Delta Symphony Orchestra. She held the concertmaster position at the Arkansas State University Symphony Orchestra for three years. In 2020 she was chosen to be the MTNA Young Artist Competition South Central Division Alternate to prepare for the national competition.
