Laura Ryan

Piano

Laura Ryan has several years experience teaching piano and woodwinds, and holds a Master of Music from Boston University.  She and her family recently relocated to Chicago from New York City where she taught at a competitive piano studio in midtown Manhattan. She has performed in NYC at venues such as ROOT Studios Performance Space, DiMenna Center for Classical Music, Issue Project Room, Hiro Ballroom, Knockdown Center and in the BAM Next Wave and CMJ Festivals. 

Laura's teaching style is one of positivity, enthusiasm, encouragement, and joy in creating.  She loves inspiring her students to explore composition and improvisation, to discover new genres of music, and find where their piano practice can take them. 

In her spare time, she enjoys exploring her new home town of Chicago with her husband and 11 year old son.
