VIOLIN: PreK-K
PreK-K violin is designed for students with little or no experience studying music. Our youngest string players will explore pitch, rhythm, basic note reading, and ensemble/group skills–all while learning violin basics like proper posture and the parts of the violin in a fun and age-appropriate environment.
Parents and guardians are highly encouraged to attend each class to observe and assist their student, as well as to facilitate in-home practice in between class meetings.
VIOLIN: 1st-4th
1st-4th Violin is designed for students with little or no experience studying music. The class may be taken on its own or as a supplement to weekly one-on-one instruction. In addition to pitch, rhythm, violin basics, and group skills, students will begin a more comprehensive introduction into elements of music notation and note reading. The course will follow Suzuki "Pre-Twinkle" repertoire. Concepts studied include: proper tone production, notation, rhythm exercises, and proper set-up of the left hand and of the bowhold.
Students will learn to work together in a collaborative musical setting as well as practice solo performing with the encouragement of their peers.
